A father and son team out of Fayetteville, N.
Carolina took home the First Place prize in the Second Annual "Fishing For Our
Kids" Open Bass Tournament held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Jordan Lake.
David Blanton and his son Will Blanton weighed in
with five fish caught for a total of 18.33 lbs. Their Big Fish for the day
weighed 5.63 lbs but didn't take the prize for largest bass caught during the
tournament. That honor went to the team of Todd Massey and Mike Riggs who
weighed in two fish for a total of 12.40 lb including the Big Fish at 8.18 lb.
23 boats with a two man team each competed in the
event this year, up from the 17 that participated in the 2009 tournament.
The Open Tournament is a benefit fundraiser for the Apex Rotary Club Scholarship
Fund with money awarded to deserving kids in the Apex, North Carolina area.
